At the Office of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) at UC Merced, our mission is to support the university’s academic and administrative operations by fostering a safe, healthy workplace and ensuring the responsible management of hazardous materials. Through a collaborative and team-oriented approach, we work closely with departments across the university to develop compliance strategies that align with the diverse activities on campus.

Our aim is to integrate comprehensive occupational health and safety programs seamlessly into UC Merced’s academic and administrative framework. By doing so, we help safeguard both the well-being of our community and the university’s valuable resources. Additionally, we take pride in promoting environmental stewardship, going beyond basic compliance to set a leadership example in managing hazardous materials and waste.

At UC Merced, EH&S is committed to shaping a safer, more sustainable future for all.
